Gina Sage - 2nd Ward Commissioner
Since joining the Board of Commissioners in January 2009 to fill the unexpired term of former Commissioner Bob McAndrews, Gina has been at the forefront of the battle to combat unwanted billboards along Baltimore Pike in Springfield. Earlier this year, she joined with her fellow Commissioners to direct the township's legal counsel to oppose the proposed billboards in hearings before the Springfield Zoning Commission and has spoken out against the billboards as a danger to the public health, safety, and welfare of Springfield residents on Channel 6 Action News, as well as the Philadelphia Inquirer, Delaware County Daily Times, and the Philadelphia Daily News. A former member of the Springfield Planning Commission, Gina is also an active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Gina is also active in numerous charitable organizations. She is a Member of the National Breast Cancer Coalition and has served as a Team Leader for National Breast Cancer Coalition National Lobby Day, where she has worked to increase awareness of breast cancer and urged lawmakers to support additional funding for breast cancer research. Gina is also a volunteer for the annual Philadelphia Bar Association 5k run to benefit Support Center for Child Advocates. A graduate of Cardinal O'Hara High School, Gina and her husband Victor have three children - Victor & Michael Sage and Andrew Fritz.
Paul Wechsler - 4th Ward Commissioner
A longtime resident of Springfield Township, Paul is seeking re-election to the Springfield Board of Commissioners where he has demonstrated his experience, common sense and dedication by maintaining a balanced budget and working to keep taxes low for local residents. Paul has also worked with his fellow Commissioners in the fight against billboards along Baltimore Pike. A graduate of Malvern Prep, Paul earned his Bachelor of Arts in Organization Management and Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Cabrini College. An Insurance and Financial Advisor since 1975, Paul is the Founder and Managing Partner of Wechsler / Marsico Associates, in Media, PA. Paul is also a military veteran and served his country in the United States Army, including active duty in South Vietnam. He is a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the American Legion. A member of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, Paul is also active in charitable organizations. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Pennsylvania Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Co-Chairperson of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Golf Outing to benefit Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter. Paul has been married for 38 years and has 3 daughters and 4 grandchildren.
James Devenney - 6th Ward Commissioner
A 35-year resident of Springfield Township, Jim Devenney is seeking re-election to the Springfield Township Board of Commissioners, where he has a record of fighting to control costs, keep taxes low, and maintain a balanced budget. As Chairman of the Township Parks and Recreation Board, Jim has worked hard to oversee and further improve one of the best municipal parks and recreational field systems in Delaware County. Jim has also worked closely with Springfield Commissioners Gina Sage and Paul Wechsler to lead the opposition to a developer's proposal to erect six immense billboards along Baltimore Pike in violation of the township's zoning code. An usher at Holy Cross Church, Jim has a long record of being an active member of the local community, including serving as President Vice President of both the Scenic Hill and E.T. Richardson Home and School Associations. Jim is also the past President of the Springfield Jaycees and a former State Director for the organization. Jim is also a former youth sports coach and past President of the Knights of Columbus. Jim and his wife Helen have two daughters; Marie and Susan,and two grandchildren, Dylan and Emily.
